Southern Illinois, not having purchased the LSS Physician Modules, desired a way to capture physician charges for services rendered in the hospital and provide these physicians compensation accordingly.

Project


The Director of Finance, the Billing Lead, & John Sharpe of Comstock Software jointly designed and implemented reports along with automated distribution via email to Billing Team Analysts for revenue capture & physician compensation.

Results


Today, Southern Illinois captures revenue for physician services, and provides physicians compensation for services rendered.

Decision Support purchased EPSi to perform cost accounting & opportunity analysis to preserve and grow the company’s ability to serve Colorado residents with world class healthcare.

This system’s users would include the CEO, CFO, and service line executives responsible for sustaining the financial viability of the organization. 

The challenge: Meditech & LSS data can be unwieldy in all of its complexity and require complex data extraction routines to move the data from source systems to the EPSi system.

The Director of Decision Support, Business Office Executives, Business Intelligence Team & John Sharpe of Comstock Software jointly designed and implemented data extracts to populate the Allscripts EPSi Data Warehouse.

Results


The CEO, CFO & service line executives now use information from EPSi to select and grow areas of the business.  This information supports the organization’s mission to provide world class healthcare to residents of Colorado.

Sandy the Director of Patient Financial Services selected Data Image to format, print & mail Patient Statements.  When the real challenges with providing the Meditech Data Extract to Data Image became apparent; Sandy  reached out to John Sharpe @ Comstock Software for assistance with Meditech Data Extraction.

Sandy, Shane from Data Image and John designed and implemented a Meditech Data Extract to provide patients with statements of their account and billing activity.

Results


Using their new Meditech Data Extract, Lima Patient Financial Services successfully mails their patients financial statements on a scheduled and daily basis.

ClinDoc Audit Results in Better Patient Care Plans

Nursing Care Plans are the primary instrument used to communicate problems, goals and progress in a patient’s recovery process.  Identifying and resolving out of date Care Plans for patients is a primary concern for the Chief Nursing Officer. 

Project


The Chief Nursing Officer, the Charge Nurse, & John Sharpe of Comstock Software jointly designed and implemented a report to proactively identify out of date Patient Care Plans.

Result


Using their new Care Plan Audit Report, Charge Nurses now proactively identify and update Patient Care Plans as soon as they are out of date.  Proactively addressing out of date Care Plans facilitates better patient care by communicating up to date problems, goals and progress to all of the patient’s care providers.
