Save Time Writing MEDITECH DR Reports

Writing adhoc SQL to explore the MEDITECH DR Data Dictionary works for a while, but sooner or later you tire of re-writing the same SQL code and standardize on a query that works for 99% of your needs.

This stored procedure 'DrTableColumns_ByNprDpmField' is an example of SQL query I've implemented as an SQL stored procedure.  This procedure accepts 3 parameters: DPM, Segment, and Field.

MEDITECH DR Field Search resized 600

Execute the procedure and it returns this result.

MEDITECH DR Field Search Results resized 600

The SQL to return this result wasn't more than a few lines, but anytime I can reduce the number of keystrokes as I write reports, I do.  If you're interested, you can read more in the MEDITECH Community Bulletin: here.
